# Bulk WF Trigger (Type 7)

> Manually trigger a workflow in bulk for a set of records directly from the NeuronCx dashboard.

## Overview

Bulk WF Trigger lets you manually kick off a workflow for multiple records at once — without needing to run them one by one. You pick the type of trigger you want, select the workflow, fill in any required details, and fire it.

The trigger screen sits alongside the Imports list and is split into two sections — the trigger controls on one side and a live log of recent trigger activity on the other.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The workflows available to you depend on what's been configured for your institution. You'll only see the ones that apply to you.

## Getting There

Navigate to **Home > Ontology > Attribute Settings & Bulk Edit**, then click the **Bulk External Source Trigger Logs** tab.

## Running a Bulk Trigger

**1. Select a trigger type**

At the top of the screen, you'll see a row of trigger type options. Click the one that matches what you want to do — for example, **Assessment Sampling WF Trigger**.

**2. Choose a workflow**

Once you've selected a trigger type, the workflows available for that type will appear. Click the workflow you want to run.

**3. Fill in the required details**

Depending on the trigger type and workflow you selected, you may be asked to provide additional information before firing — for example, a date or a Google Sheet ID.

> [!NOTE]
>
> The inputs shown here are specific to the workflow you selected. A date-based trigger shows a date picker; a sheet-based trigger shows a text field for the sheet ID.

**4. Fire the trigger**

Once you've filled in the required details, click **Trigger** to run it. The workflow will begin processing for the matching records.

## Checking the Trigger Log

The right side of the screen shows a log of the 50 most recent bulk triggers for your institution. Each entry shows:

| Column | What it shows |
| - | - |
| ID | The log entry number |
| Type | The type of bulk trigger that was run |
| Workflow | The specific workflow that was triggered |
| Count | Number of records processed in that trigger run |
| Date | When the trigger was fired |

> [!TIP]
>
> If your trigger doesn't appear in the log immediately, wait a moment and refresh — it may still be queuing.

## Limits to Keep in Mind

* Only workflows configured for your institution will appear. If a workflow you expect isn't showing up, check with your administrator.
* Some trigger types require specific inputs — for example, a date for assessment sampling triggers. The trigger won't fire until all required fields are filled in.
* Only one bulk trigger of the same type runs at a time. If the same workflow is already running, your trigger will queue until it's done.
